Separating Man from Myth
What's it all about? In a word, men. After yet another night of discussing our complicated and unsatisfactory love lives with our friends, Shoddy and I (DD) came to realise that we don't understand what is going on between men and women anymore. Nobody we know is particularly happy with their relationship, male or female. Take one couple, young and gorgeous, but who haven't had sex, at least with each other, in three years; another friend claims to be happily married but he has one-night-stands on a weekly basis; another couple's relationship only works when they live in separate houses. Actually we quite like that idea.
We decided that we needed to know what men think in today's world, what attracts them to us, what keeps them with us and what turns them off us. The last category appears to be large, by the way. Instead of spending our nights in asking each other why it is all going horribly wrong, we thought we would go out and ask the experts. We would ask men directly. We know what you are thinking, it's just an excuse to chat up men. Not true, how dare you suggest such a thing...
We did have to consider that we wouldn't like what we heard, we wouldn't be told the truth or men wouldn't talk to us at all. But men do like to talk (if you ask them nicely) and if only half of what they are telling us is true, women are still going to want to hear it. We are talking to men about their affairs, how they feel about their wives and children, their freedom or lack or it, what they look for in a girlfriend, what really goes on during those boy's weekends away... No subject is taboo.

About the researchers
Pippa is also known as Shoddy. The word shoddy is described in the dictionary as 'badly made or badly done.' There is nothing badly made or done about Pippa. In fact, she is the antithesis of shoddiness. And neither does she do anything shoddily. She is often to be found on a Sunday morning sporting nothing but a hangover, a satin slip and rubber gloves... doing the cleaning. Her current love status? Cruising happily along.
DD stands for Disco Diva (amongst other things...), and she is to be found wherever there is a drum beat. Her motto is 'I'll try anything once, well apart from THAT.' Often accused of having a one track mind, she is constantly accosting men... to find out what they think. Her current love status? Couldn't be better.
